The vale of cultural Heritage in each country exceeds domestic value and it is recognized as common properties to be protected and preserved by help of affectionate attention and efforts from all mankind. To protect and hand down everlasting value, the international cooperation and support between countries for the restoration and conservation of cultural heritage is required to play a huge role in joint growth based on common prosperity. As a donor country in DAC list of OECD, the level of Korea to support recipient countries has not become distinguished and still in a period which requires expansion of its scale and concerns according international expectations and responsibilities. In the context of concern about cultural heritage under unfavorable conditions and insufficient support for recipient countries, it is necessary for Korea to take a positive attitude towards international cooperation and to actively establish plans in a reliable partnership with them to meet the demands of help for conservation of cultural heritage which is common property ultimately. This study intends to suggest directions and ideas on international cooperation for cultural heritage focusing on ODA(Official Development Assistance) by reviewing the current situation on international development cooperation between Korea and Japan taking a leading role and elaborates on how the international training program moves forward for sharing skills of conservation with recipient countries.
