Abstract
China and Korea are geographically close neighbors separated only by a strip of water with similar culture background of Confucianism. Although China has a long history and splendid culture, the development of multiplex in China is relatively slow and in the first stage at present; oppositely, Korea has attached great importance to the multiplex industry, and the development thereof has been in the mature stage with relatively mature system and background for support. In recent years, Chinese government has taken the development of film culture industry seriously, adopted foreign policy of friendship and supported the industry in various aspects. The policy of China has provided Korean multiplex industry great support to come into China’s market, and created good macro environment for it. Besides, the big domestic market of 1.3 billion population of China has given Korean cultural and creative industries good market environment to come into China.
CGV is the largest cinema line in Korea and has entered China for many years, wherein its high-end facilities and personalized service has won interests of Chinese consumers. This thesis is aiming at discuss the internationalization strategy of CGV on the basis of research on macro environment of China and the strategy of CGV on moving into Chinese market, which would offer suggestions to companies of Korean multiplex industry to gain better fruits when coming into Chinese market with combination of local culture, adaptation to local environment and adoption of local market strategy.
