Error Analysis in the Production of Korean Implosive [ㅂ,ㄷ,ㄱ] by Cantonese Speakers : Focused on Constraints of Syllable Structure This study was designed to perform experiments and surveys on production of Korean implosives produced by Cantonese speakers so that it analyses error committed by Cantonese speakers focused on syllable structure constraints. The purpose of this study is to categorize the patterns of error and to establish the cause of the error. To this end, on chapter 1, purpose of study was explained and preceding researches was analysed. On chapter 2, each languages's phonological system and syllable structures was compared so that the study can find grounds to support its conclusion. On chapter 3, The survey and the two of experiments was carried out intended for Cantonese speakers. The ten of Cantonese speakers from beginning level to intermediate level were asked to fill out the survey and record their Korean implosives' pronunciation. The purpose of the study had been explained before the subjects responded. In survey, it is shown that Cantonese speakers were rarely aware of the fact that Cantonese syllable endings can be changed into an equivalent Korean syllable endings. Having said that, the error rate in experiment 1(perception) ― substitute from Cantonese syllable endings to Korean's ― was low. This means that whether the subjects have a perception of Cantonese syllable endings or not, it does not affect error rate in pronunciation of Korean implosive [ㅂ, ㄷ, ㄱ]. In experiment 2-1(production) and experiment 2-2(production), Korean syllables that free from Cantonese syllable structure constraints has higher error rate than that of constrained syllables. This shows possibility that the production of Cantonese speakers are influenced by constraints of syllable structure and the error rate in the production of free-strained-Korean syllables can be higher. On the authority of the above results, this can be of help to provide pronunciation education plans for Cantonese Korean learners. And further, it is expected that the people who have difficulty pronouncing Korean implosive [ㅂ, ㄷ, ㄱ] can also get help from the education plans. ,韩语论文网站,韩语论文网站 |
