This study has the purpose of education plan for onomatopoeia· mimic words using collocation to express female marital immigrants’ emotions and feelings correctly by using these words.
In this study, the list of onomatopoeia· mimic words collocation for Korean education was selected, the education plan was constructed by the list and the effect of this was proved by experiments with experimental and control groups targeting female marital immigrants.
Female marital immigrants are special learner group different from others with acquiring vocabularies in daily lives more than learning. On the other hand, they have more expression errors because they don’t recognize the relationship between word combination. So, if they want to express her emotion or feeling in real, it is necessary to learn the words as a correct context. Also, they need a separate onomatopoeia· mimic words education plan as a special learner group exposed by spoken language more.
In this study, some specific words exist with the front and the rear onomatopoeia· mimic words, and this characteristics should be delivered to the learners clearly. To do this, antecedent is offered to make them recognize the relationship with it. In this way, 6 kinds of Korean textbooks, which used mainly in female marital immigrant education and university institutes, were analyzed to select 114 of learners’ onomatopoeia· mimic words collocation list for learning and 83 of list for each predicate.
After that, onomatopoeia· mimic words education method by using collocation relationship was offered. Class model would be arranged and developed with the advantages of PPP model accustomed to the target learners and OHE model activating the learners’ perception.
Lastly, experimental group learning onomatopoeia· mimic words by collocation relationship and control group learning the meaning and form were divided and taught to prove their education effects by experiments.
After the experiment, post evaluation was performed and the result was significantly improved number for both groups. The experimental group, however, showed superior increased scores. Also, after the experiment finished, time delay assessment was performed 8 weeks later and the experimental group did not show any significant difference and this meant that the learnng effect continued. It was confirmed by experiment that the onomatopoeia· mimic words education by collocation was helpful not only for short-term memory but also for long-term memory more.
This study has meaning for proving the effect of onomatopoeia· mimic words education plan with collocation by experiments. Based on this study, it is expected to be continued for studying vocabulary competence improved by collocation when there are onomatopoeia· mimic words instruction·learning.
