The base of Sino-Korean and Sino-Japanese is from Ancient Chinese Phonology. In the past, corresponding degrees were higher than present time. However, currently, there are many exceptions that don't have one-to-one correspondences to words of their own sounding variations.
Up until now, there are many comparative studies of Sino-Korean and Sino-Japanese that have been made. This study however different from those studies. This study is focused on the Korean vowel system and is to compare the medial vowels and the final consonants of Sino-Korean with Sino-Japanese. And then respectively to find out some corresponding rules between them.
Through this study, it will compare the correspondence aspect of Sino-Korean and Sino-Japanese and analyzed about the factors where the pronunciation origin of Both nations appears different.
The research results will be summarized by the following three major findings.
First, by the difference of the phonemic system of both nations.
Second, Sino-Korean is one letter-one sound according to pronunciation principle of a Chinese character in Korea. On the other hand, Sino-Japanese mostly has one letter-multiple sounds.
Third, this was change from initial form by various phonological changes that happened from Korean-Japanese national languages.
The discord of Chinese character Phonology of both nations are one of the most obvious factors that make learning Chinese more difficult to teach and learn.
