The purpose of this study is to inspect a vocabulary learning plan through games in Korean Education. The games are to induce learners to actively attend classes using competition and cooperation. To achieve this purpose, a specific learning plans for interesting learning vocabulary are presented. The results of this study could be summarized as follows:
First, the researches on the definition of a game, learning efficiency and various kinds of games in learning vocabulary are carried out. Among these games, four kinds of games - word completion, seeking incorrect words, memeorizing vocabulary, bingo game - are selected.
Second, a questionnaire research on how the classes through the games in classroom are performed and analysis of the results are carried out. The results are confirmed as follows: - about 1 period time a week in classroom, high learners' interests, self-confidence improvement, long-terms memory and enlargement vocabulary -
Third, a more specific class model using third phase of the problem-solving class model and teaching-learning plan in accordance with this model are presented. The results are confirmed as follows: - higher vocabulary memorizing level than that of the existing dictation, regardless of kinds of games and higher learners' interests in relatively higher degree of difficulty.
Fourth, most learners are interested in previous presented games. And they think games are not "play" or "killing-time" but "useful" to learning vocabulary. Teachers also recognized the effectiveness on classes using games in learning vocabulary.
As a results of this study, we confirmed that the learning vocabulary through games in Korean Education make higher learners' interests, perceive previous learned vocabulary well, and offer chances to memorize and to make use of vocabulary.
Furthermore, to more effectively achieve the purpose of this study, I suggest that teachers continue to perform more researches on much vocabulary improvement plans and vocabulary-oriented s in the field of the classroom in Korean Education as well as to study methods on learning vocabulary each game and assisted learning material.
