This study aimed at devising ways to invigorate the Yi Dong-ryeong Memorial Hall and the birthplace of Yi Dong-ryeong designated as monument No. 72 by province. As one of such ways, the study tried to plan, develop and invigorate an education and experience program. The Yi Dong-ryeong Memorial Hall was established on February 23, 2010, and his birthplace was designated as monument No. 72 on April 20, 1989 by province. In order to invigorate an education and experience program which conformed to the establishment purpose of the Yi Dong-ryeong Memorial Hall, which was built to pass down Yi's life and spirit to future generations based on his life and achievement, this study was composed as follows. In chapter I, the background and purpose of this research, which is about on ways to invigorate the education of the Yi Dong-ryeong Memorial Hall, were explained. It is not possible to summarize Yi's life in several pages of writing, but this study tried to discover Yi's value in term of cultural heritage and then to develop and invigorate an education and experience program rather than researching his spiritual value, with attached importance to the development of an education and experience program. In chapter II, Yi's value in terms of cultural heritage was explained based on his life and achievements. Through existing studies and writings, his achievements were understood and his value in terms of cultural heritage perceived by this researcher was examined. By doing this, the direction of the education and experience program of the Yi Dong-ryeong Memorial Hall was presented. In chapter III, the current problems of the operation of the education and experience program of the memorial hall were pointed out, and future tasks for the invigoration of the education and experience program and the memorial hall were presented. In chapter IV, cases of memorial halls of figures who joined in the independence movement were analyzed. The attempt to produce the education and experience program of the Yi Dong-ryeong Memorial Hall and his birthplace was made along with suggestions acquired from the analysis of the education and experience programs of three similar humanities memorial halls and Yi's spiritual value and value in terms of concrete cultural heritage described in chapter II. In chapter V, specific ways to invigorate the education and experience program of Yi's birthplace and memorial hall which were being considered by this researcher were explained. The target of the program was set and efforts were made to operate the program in consideration of the theme suitable for the target. Furthermore, in order to operate the program effectively, ways to produce training aids and to select instructors were presented.
