Purpose : This study seeks to activate near miss of medical institutions and, furthermore, contribute to the firm settlement of patient safety practices by identifying factors influencing the willingness to near miss of ward nurses at a tertiary hospitals. Methods : For the study data, 179 ward nurses working at 1 tertiary hospital from September 28 to October 3, 2016 after IRB approval. Structured survey was utilized as the study instrument, which consisted of a total of 66 questions including 7 on general characteristics, 44 on Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC), 4 on near miss-related characteristics; and 11 on the willingness to near miss. The collected data were processed using SPSS 21.0 under frequency/percentage/average/standard deviation tests, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results : The HSOPSC was measured as 3.36 (5-point Likert Scale); and willingness to near miss, 7.49, (10-point VAS scale). As for the willingness to near miss depending upon each situation (5-point scale), the highest result was found in medicine administration followed by hurt from a fall, treatment, suicide, examination, surgery, transfusion, inhibition band, infection and bedsore, in order. Willingness to near miss showed no significant difference according to general characteristics. Regarding the characteristics associated with near miss, significant differences were found between near miss and system awareness level and willingness to near miss in near miss experience. A positive correlation was found between patient safety culture awareness and willingness to near miss. Major factors influencing willingness to near miss were found the system awareness level and patient negligent-accident propensity. Conclusion : The higher the willingness to near miss was when the more the nurses were aware of the near miss and system, the more the nurses had safety negligent accident experiences including near misses, and the higher their awareness on patient safety culture. Therefore, hospitals need to plan for enhance near miss experience by simplifying/clarifying the system; improving the computer-based system for easier patient protection from negligence accident; and providing proactive PR and education, etc. on the idea of near miss and near miss ing system. Also, near miss will need to be activated based on emphasis on the importance of near miss , obstacle analysis and patient safety culture enrichment while analyzing the ed near misses and finding and solving system problems with a view to prevent any potential red-light incident. ,韩语论文,韩语论文 |
