Despite their knowledge on the problems of the business process in their organization, for some special reasons- in many cases employees just decide to remain silence. Researchers define this phenomenon as organizational silence. In this article, the author briefly review the definitions, dimensions and assessment of this special organizational behavior from current research. Organizational silence is a behavior with multiple causes so from the leadership and organization, fellow, and individual character, the author expatiate on the factors that influencing the organizational silence. Further the author discuss the positive and negative consequences of organizational silence and roots of chinese culture. The research focuses on the impact of organizational silence on innovation behavior and turnover intention by the moderating effect of psychological empowerment. The research model among the variables in this study was as flows: ◁표 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요) To achieve this purpose, a research and hypotheses were developed to examine the theoretical questions. To test the model proposed, a survey was conducted. 285 pairs of survey were collected in Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, Shanghai, Heilongjiang Province. The collected date were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0 to verify hypotheses of this study. Results of this study are summarized as the follows: First, acquiescent silence is positively(/) related to turnover intention. Second, acquiescent silence is negatively(-) related to innovation behavior. Third, defensive silence cannot impact on turnover intention and innovation behavior. Fourth, psychological empowerment can moderate the relationship between acquiescent silence and innovation behavior and the relationship between acquiescent silence and turnover intention. We can see that only acquiescent silence have impact on innovation behavior and turnover intention and psychological empowerment also play an active role in moderating the relationship between acquiescent silence and innovation behavior and the relationship between acquiescent silence and turnover intention.
