This suggests that a search engine should be able to recognize query sentences, rather than some keywords, in order to provide reliable result for users’ needs.
In this study, we try to analyze vocabulary and syntax studies regarding as queries on internet and suggest a research focused on the formalization of those themes with electronic dictionary and LGG models. This aims to describe a semantic relations and syntactic patterns of ‘How’ query types not have been discussed variously in former studies.
According to ‘How’ query types, it is observed the limit of method for finding the focus of queries and identifies limited analysis on interrogatives in interrogative sentences.
On this study, we find key words appeared in subject noun phrases on 'How' query types, perform analysis of semantic feature about key word, carry out methodical expansion of words, and describe a relevance of syntactic variation relations regarding 'How' query types.
Based on this analysis, we clarify the cognition of key words from queries which have answers, as well as the query patters not able to analyze forms of query focus with key words. Furthermore, the syntactic and semantic patterns we described here will be useful for improving Q&A systems' ability to recognize on-line queries.
