A study on Prosodic Phrasing and Application of Phonological Rules in Korean The purpose of this study was to investigate the prosodic boundary as a suprasegmental unit and phonological phenomenon, whose application range is over word, as a segmental unit are affected by production speed of Chinese studying Korean according to their proficiency in the view of pause in learning Korean. This study, accordingly, reviewed the studies on phonology as a foundation of contents. The definition and extraction criteria of prosodic unit boundary and phonological phenomenons were selected focusing on the prosodic phonology that addressing both prosodic phrasing and phonological phenomenon and intonational phonology. In terms of methodology, the learners' actual productions were collected and the prosodic unit boundary and presence of phonological phenomenon were determined based on auditory-perceptual evaluation and evidence from experimental phonetic analysis using Praat and were compared with production of native Korean speakers. The results of this study are as follows: First, the production speed of Chinese studying Korean was not fast than those of native Korean speakers. This increased the rates of realized phonological phrase in sentences and decreased the number of produced syllables per a phonological phrase. Second, in the formation of phonological phrase, the Chinese learning Korean tended to select awkward position as a prosodic boundary, relying on visual information of a syllable unit based on inconvenience and spacing words rather than figuring out the structure of sentence. Third, for the intonational phrase, The three groups were similar in selecting a position with clear syntactic structure as a boundary. The total number of boundary, however was higher in Korean language learner group because of the higher number of intonational phrases, resulting in frequent break in production and the final lengthening was observed when the intonation phrases were not realized. Fourth, the phonological phenomenon in post lexicon hierarchy is likely to be unobservable because the prosodic units are often unadjusted even the learner has high level of frequency. These results confirm that the phonological rule is applicable under the word boundary and under where the phonological rules are learned explicitly, however also show that the phonological rule that should be applied in higher prosodic units including phonological and intonational phrase range is not applicable when the application range is not taught explicitly, suggesting that the phonological phenomenon is included not only in novice level but also advanced level as a content of teaching and that the range of application of phonological phenomenon rule should be expanded, in addition ones in word, to include production in post lexicon hierarchy. This study, in the field of pronunciation education, has a value of attempting investigation of prosody, a suprasegmental unit, and phonological phenomenon, a fragmental element that had been studied limitedly. The limitations of this study include insufficient data and restriction on nationality and gender of participants. This study intends to be contribute to and used for teaching suprasegmental unit and phonological phenomenon of post lexicon in the field of education of Korean pronunciation education. ,免费韩语论文,韩语论文题目 |
