In this study, the synonyms of Korean verbs are selected and the relationship between these synonyms was analyzed by distinguishing the meaning. And, considering the error characteristics and needs of Chinese learners, it shows the teaching - learning models and guidances for them with systematical presenting. Therefore, it makes the theoretical foundation for the concept and meaning discrimination of verbs and synonyms and is examined the error patterns of the synonyms. Futhermore, it is investigated the educational needs of Chinese learners' verbal synonyms in an empirical way. According to the survey results, it is found that Korean verb synonym education is needed normally. Among this, it is found that there is a high need for the recognition of the meaning of the verb synonyms, the need for the textbooks and the teachers, the overall perception and attitude about the necessity of the verb synonym education, and the reflection of the learners' opinions. In addition, these verb synonyms are showed by a slight difference according to the learners' personal characteristics and environment. Next, a verbal phrase list was selected based on the vocabulary list selections in "Development of Korean language vocabulary contents (1, 2, 3 step)" for semantic discrimination of verb synonyms. Based on the frequency of questionnaires and incorrect answers, we analyzed the basic meanings and applications of the 13 verb synonyms which are extracted in depth. In the analysis process, it is confirmed that each vocabulary is actually realized in different meanings because of the discriminative qualities of the synonyms. After this analysis, the theoretical model was examined, and intensive teaching models, detailed teaching methods, and teaching practice were presented for one synonym group. In the classes of the synonyms of Korean verbs, the instructional model of problem - based learning (PBL) was used as the external frame of the class. Based on the review of the problem - based learning instructional model, we have extracted the following key elements: ① meeting problems, ② establishing problem - solving plans, ③ searching and re - seeking, ④ designing solutions, ⑤ presentation and evaluation. In this study, the program of Korean verb synonyms is composed of 4 classes and 5 learning stages for each class. And the time is set to 100 minutes for each class. The subjects of the class were Chinese intermediate learners, and contents were selected as 'put' and 'keep'. In this teaching-learning guidance, it is a problem-solving process that connects to the situation and usage. It consists of very exploratory activities in which learners solve themselves in strong synonyms. This model would be very useful, because many thought processes are required to identify the meaning of Korean verbs. And in this lesson plans, the goal is to improve the completeness of meaning discrimination as we concentrate on one synonym group, so it is possible to apply to other verb synonyms other than 'put' and 'keep'. This study focuses on the verbs of uncommon synonyms and it has significant achievements that it can be possible for providing basic materials for classes with deep research of comparison and analysis on interpretation and usage for meaning discrimination. Also, it is meaningful that it gives lesson plans with completeness of semantic discrimination and applicable on real situation while it leads concentrated classes of teaching verb synonyms groups.
