In Korea, following the inflow of migrant workers in 1988, a multicultural society has emerged due to the increase of international marriages since the 1990s. In recent years, because the proportion of remarried households in international marriages increased steadily, the number of immigrant youth is increasing as well. Unlike children of multicultural families with domestic birth, immigrant youth come to Korea after the process of socialization in their home countries, thus, they face language problems, which are directly linked to communication problems and have difficulties in adapting to society. Furthermore, because of mother 's remarriage, relationship with Korean father comes as burden and because of Korean language level and appearance·cultural differences, they cannot adapt to school life and often stop studying. In the case of migrant workers' children, they are unable to receive public education due to their status of residence. In addition, although immigrant youth have to decide their career in adolescence period, there is few of them who come with their career path, and even if they do, it is hard to proceed because of cultural and education systematic difference from their home countries. Also, in case of teenagers of families with economic problems, it is likely for them to work only for making money. This research first investigated kinds of education support being provided to overcome the difficulties of immigrant youth, and selected and reviewed about cases of countries that welcomed the multicultural society ahead of South Korea, such as the US, Sweden, Australia, and Japan. The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Education have implemented policies and programs for immigrated adolescents. However, they have been unable to manage fundamental problems because they care about controversial issues first which causes suspension or reduction of businesses, and lack of continuous management due to financial trouble. In addition, since there is no control tower like the Immigration Service, cooperation between the ministries is not being carried out, and the cultural diversity of immigrant youth is not respected due to the assimilation policy. In terms of education support programs, it is biased toward Korean language and cultural education. Also, in alternative schools, it is biased towards technical education to become a professional rather than preparing for universities. In the case of the preparatory schools, the education period is set to 6 months or 1 year according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education. Such set time period is difficult for immigrant youth to develop their abilities to adapt to primary schools. In order to resolve these problems, firstly, the principle of policy should be social integration, and education should be provided considering multicultural education, fair education opportunities, and cultural diversity of immigrant youth. Secondly, it is necessary to establish a collaboration system for each department to prevent duplication of business and to implement various programs in regard of local characteristics. Thirdly, diversification of education support topics such as career, parental, and personality education should help them to grow properly. Fourthly, the educational institutions should be expanded so that they can receive education at institutions other than regular schools and alternative schools. Fifthly, they need to strengthen bilingual competence and open up career paths through learning Korean as their second language. In order to prepare for future multicultural societies, and complement the lack of public education systems, this research implies that the direction of systematic support for education should be expanded and easy to access as the number of immigrant youth is increasing as the number of children of multicultural families are increasing. Given the government 's efforts, immigrant youth will become important parts for establishing a stable multicultural society in Korea.
