This study aims to delve in creating a new and innovative methodology in hopes of furthering the development of teaching practices in Korean language education. Specifically, the research looks into more intuitive ways in which students learn vocabulary, proper sentence structure, and correct understanding of connotation and denotation for proper diction through the selection of synonyms using dictionary definition of Korean vocabulary. In the first chapter, previous research is analyzed and discussed on teaching vocabulary practices and the use of developing understanding of vocabulary through definitions in a dictionary. Furthermore, the study reviews numerous new researches and analyzes new programs that have been implemented in recent years. In the second chapter, the thesis looks back at the collocation of words in syntax and look into the common synonym of some core vocabulary. Here, the study discusses the technical background of the thesis in selecting appropriate synonyms based on the study of Korean language and education. In the third chapter, the study analyzes the characteristics of dictionary definition. Analysis in both the morphology and frequency were performed through bi-gram. Here, the methodology of how synonyms are chosen are explained in four steps. In the fourth chapter, the study extrapolates a methodology in choosing a synonym for a noun and verb. In part, the chapter details how an appropriate synonym was chosen based off of the root of the word. The chapter details how to take a given vocabulary word and choose a synonym by using the root of that word. Here, the results are compared and contrasted with a previous synonym dictionary that is used as a reference. In the fifth chapter, a fixed vocabulary set was given and the core vocabulary was chosen using network analysis. A selection rubric was created and includes 3 major points. For example, when synonyms such as decision, resolution, and conviction were given choices, the selection rubric was used as an example to see how successful the new methodology works. The same trial was repeated with several verbs. In this chapter, the results and effectiveness of those choices are presented in chapter 5. Through this research, a new method of choosing synonyms has been presented. This is important because much of Korean language and the understanding needed for syntax and diction are found specifically within the definition of a each specific Korean vocabulary. By stressing the correct choice of synonyms, students are able to quickly understand how Korean language syntax and diction operate. The networks of words that are found through this research can be used as examples for future student use. This new methodology of using core vocabulary in order to select and teach synonyms is a brand new and never before seen idea and should be a topic of research for the future and a potential breakthrough for Korean language learners. ,韩语论文范文,韩语论文 |
