With the fast development of world economy, the industry of furniture has moved to a new level. Chinese furniture design is facing a huge challenge. How to get rid of the title of plagiarizing, copy and cheap, break away from quantity without quality? How to make full use of thousands of years of Chinese history, to combine Chinese furniture design and world design and satisfy the esthetic of modern society. Having quantity and quality, and the unique modern Chinese style at the same time becomes a difficulty of modern Chinese furniture design. In ancient China, porcelain was used in traditional decoration, especially in Ming and Qing Dynasty. Porcelain furniture can be divided into purely porcelain furniture and porcelain with other materiel furniture. Currently, because ofthe improvement of porcelain performance is not mature, the defect of impact properties still exists, so the porcelain is not suggested to be widely use. Partly inlaid and combined with other materiel is the main form of porcelain use. As a Chinese who studies abroad, I would like to blend the best Chinese design element into modern design, and interpret the eastern culture of Asia. Designer analyzes the strong and weak point of Chinese sweet white porcelain; refine the craft features of white porcelain of Ming Dynasty, cater to the thought of modern design, break the traditional Chinese porcelain furniture design, link with the Korean modern furniture. The main materials are white porcelain and Korean white maple. The designer did lots of research and analyze. In the process of white porcelain, in order to achieve the higher purity of color, alot of Gaoling is added into porcelain, but this causes some distortion as well. How to solve this problem to use in furniture? the designer did a deep research. Through the combination of Chinese traditional porcelain and Korean modern furniture, the designer would like to provide a new direction for the sustainable development of Chinese traditional culture, and she hopes that more and more Chinese-Korean designers could learn the way of thinking of using the traditional elements into modern design. |
