This aims to analyze the cultural educational contents in Korean textbook, especially on the Korean customs of ceremonial occasions and attempts to provide proper educational contents regarding the subject. Many textbooks covers Korean cultures since it is known that learning Korean culture helps them to understand the cultural context of Korean language and makes them easier to communicate with others, thereby achieve successful educational effects. Understanding one’s culture and traditional customs is essential for language education and education on the Korean ceremonial occasions is the basic of Korean language education. Therefore, it is necessary to review the context on Korean ceremonial occasions, the basics of the lives of Korean people. This study reviewed the contents of Korean ceremonial occasions in several Korean textbooks, studied its vocabularies and organized how the vocabularies are described in the textbook. As a result, the contents on Korean ceremonial occasions in the textbooks were partial or were apart from the real-life culture. It implies that the books are negligent on Korean culture of current era, where the modern culture and tradition coexist.
