This research is to study the ways of improvement for revision learning activity in the Korean textbooks. Revision is an important part of processes that has a great influence on learning Korean and improving writing proficiency. However, there are not many research studies done regarding the revision learning activity in the Korean textbooks. Accordingly, I investigated about the revision and analyzed how the revision learning activity has been actually realized in the Korean textbooks. Based on the analysis, the purpose of the study is to suggest limitations of the Korean textbooks, their improvement plan, and an actual formation of a textbook.
In order to achieve my goal, I analyzed total 3,704 writing learning activities suggested in the 46 textbooks from 6 kinds of Korean textbooks. Based on the findings, I suggested some methods to improve the revision learning activities. The improvement plans are as follows:
First, the writing learning activities in the Korean textbooks should be various.
Second, the revision learning activity should be explicit in the textbook.
Third, the principle of revision learning activity should be applied universally.
Fourth, the content of the revision learning activity should be diversified.
