Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop Atopic Dermatitis Pattern Identification Questionnaire (ADPIQ) and Korean version of Patient-oriented Eczema Measure (POEM-K) and to assess reliability and validity of ADPIQ and POEM-K.
Materials and Methods: Multicenter prospective study was done to 50 participants diagnosed with Atopic dermatitis. We transformed Atopic Dermatitis Pattern Identification Questionnaire developed by KFDA, and the panel of experts translated POEM into Korean. SCORAD, SF-36 were used as external comparator.
Results: Participants included 20 men and 30 women, aged 18 to 63 years. Test-retest reliability of ADPIQ was estimated by Kappa coefficient and it showed a substantial level of consistency(kappa coefficient=0.6040). Test-retest reliability of total POEM-K was estimated by Intraclass correlation coefficient and it showed strong agreement(ICC=0.715). By Using Pearson correlation coefficients, we have compared POEM-K to SCORAD and yielded Concurrent validity, which showed a significant result. Responsiveness of POEM-K was represented by effective size(ES) of 1.41(p-value=0.0038).
Conclusion: Our analyses confirmed excellent clinical properties for ADPIQ and POEM-K, which appeared to be reliable, valid and responsive instrument for assessing atopic dermatitis in Korea.
