A Study on Tense and Aspect of Korean and Indonesian for Korean Language Teaching
Until now, there weren’t any systematically organized research of Indonesian tense and aspect in perspective of teaching Korean nor advanced research of compare and contrast of tense and aspect in both Korean and Indonesian.
This has compared and analyzed the tense and aspect both in Korean and Indonesian. In addition, some points have researched that might be applied in Korean education to Indonesian. It will be easier and clearer to understand the tense and aspect for Indonesian who studies Korean. This will have great significance, since this type of research has not been discussed in Korea.
In chapter 2, the tense system is examined after summarizing the concept related to tenses. Addition to, the aspectual meaning is accompanied when we discuss about tenses.
The chapter 3 analyzes and organizes Indonesian tense and aspect in depth, which has not been discussed broadly in Korea. This chapter referred to domestically published Indonesian language textbooks and 3rd edition of 「Indonesian Basic Grammar」.
The chapter 4 explains how the tense and aspect correspond to Korean tenses by comparing and analyzing Indonesian tense and aspect and Korean tenses which are indicated in chapter 2 and 3. Indonesian tense and aspect have compared and analyzed with Korean tense morpheme when it holds aspectual meaning as the center, for the past and present tense and aspect. Additionally, it is examined how Korean future tense and aspect respond to Indonesian. Furthermore, on the basis of the compared results shown above, it analyzes the tense education presented on the「General Korean for Indonesian」and specifies the points that need improvement or complement.
