The aim of this research is to investigate and construct an alternative Korean Curriculum for Occupational Purposes for students in China.
Nowadays, there is an increasing trend in majoring Flight Attendant in aeronautics, and there has been a similar trend in demanding individuals who have learned business Korean.
In this study, a learner-focused curriculum design is presented as an attempt to investigate and meet the needs of the target group for Flight Attendant Department in China. This research presents a survey of the various needs enrolled students and alumni Flight Attendant in aeronautics. After analyzing the results of the survey, this research presents a curriculum for Korean for Occupational Purposes that is designed to meet the requirements that were presented by the analysis. The research will be presented in the following manner.
In the first chapter, the needs and purposes of the study are addressed. The different possible methods, as well as a review of previous studies that are relevant in constructing Korean Curriculum for Occupational Purposes for Flight Attendant are explained and reviewed.
In the second chapter, using the definition of Korean Development for Occupational Purposes as a background, the characteristics of Korean education and design principles of the curriculum of Korean education for Occupational Purposes and training will be discussed.
In the third chapter, the current state of Korean education for Occupational Purposes for Flight Attendant Department in China will be analyzed.
In the fourth chapter, data surveyed from students in Flight Attendant Department and those who have graduated is analyzed with respect to the needs for a curriculum in Korean for Occupational Purposes.
In the fifth chapter, keeping in mind the result analysed and presented in chapter 4, a Korean Curriculum for Occupational Purposes is presented; including its goals and objectives, syllabus and lesson plans as well as the implementation model that is required to meet the needs of all parties.
Finally, in the sixth chapter, a summary of the results of the research is presented, along with an analysis of the potential limitations of the study.
Through this research, both enrolled students and alumni Flight Attendant department in aeronautics were able to ascertain their awareness of the need for Korean Curriculum for Occupational Purposes design and implementation.
