First, it is to make the foreign learners understand the learning contents of Bible stories.

Educational effects of storytelling approach shown in the existing studies are as follows.
1. it motivates and excite the learners by giving the learning contents vividly.
2. it improves their language competence naturally through the process of listening to and speaking of stories.
3. it increases their imagination and creativity related to a variety of activities.
4. it helps them experience and understand indirectly the culture in the story.
5. it facilitates their personal growth and sociality affecting emotional development.
The Bible stories, God Creator of the World, and Jesus Above the Cross, are selected for intermediate learners, based on the educational effects of storytelling in language education, culture education, and emotional education
As the existing studies point learning materials are one-shot, though used for adaptation, the Bible stories are selected as materials for availability and permanence.
The lesson steps consist of ‘preparing and introduction’, ‘development’, ‘deepening and extension’, and ‘summary and evaluation’, based on Kim, Young min(1996).
The contents in each step are focused on listening and reading, unlike the existing studies, giving many opportunities to respond to the stories through a variety of activities
This study gives the lesson effectively composed of listening and reading activities to improve understanding ability of Korean, focused on listening and reading through the Bible stories. Thus it is expected to be an efficient approach to achieve the aims and to contribute to Korean education for overseas mission and abroad and in the country.
