As I am looking for ways to educate Korean language using local newss for migrant women, I find the improvement of interests and confidence about life in Korea is due to the progress of Korean language skills and interests which is facilitating family communication. My
intention to study this research is to help them adapt to life in Korea.
Local newss a lot of information of local community as a role and function of a spokesperson in the local are out of national news ed by nationwide news.
I recognize this method helps facilitate the improvements of vocabulary-building, understanding and interests about Korean by classes using news.
In addition to this, the interests in the region provides the ways to do a variety of activities with them as good teaching material. Yet, taking advantage of the news is not frequently used, because we have prejudice that newss may be difficult to use in classes.
Instead of using long paragraphs of news editorials, if we use short contents of community problems in the news for migrant women, they can have more interests in Korean class.
I feel the need for developing various teaching methods and learning programs.
News literacy education will give them a positive improvement of word skills as a basic skills, as well as, it provides the power to actively cope with the rapidly changing future with various useful information.
I have a regrettable point in that I can not have many lessons for learners in this study. I wish to continue research related to using newss for helping learners who are studying Korean.
