A Korean verb, '보다' has lots of uses and is very polysemous as a predicate which is the centre of sentences. Besides, a Chinese verb, '看' corresponding to '보다' is very frequently used in daily lives of speakers in China and is highly polysemous too. For such reasons, Chinese people who learn Korean language, have difficulties in studying it.
This study, analyzed the structure and the semantic system of a verb, '보다', set the most basic and key meaning of it preferentially, considered its relation with a Chinese verb, '看' through the classification of derived meaning expanded from its basic meanings and analyzed meaning categories in a Korean dictionary.
In addition, it analyzed uses of a Korean verb, '보다'and a Chinese verb, '看' in the classified meaning categories, considered the direct relationship between them and examined cognitions of Chinese people who learn Korean language in each meaning category.
Based on these research results, it proposed guidance plans using the frequency relation of each meaning category, using the meaning relation and using the lexical co-occurrence relation for teaching the polysemous verb, '보다' to Chinese people, effectively.
