This is about an education methods of degree adverbs among the synonymic relation adverbs in Korean language. Signification discrimination standards were suggested on the basis of each synonym corpus example and the state of the education of synonym of degree adverbs in Korean language and its usage were examined. On the basis of this data, an education method of synonymic relation degree adverbs was prepared. As the importance of vocabulary in second language learning increases, studies on vocabulary education in Korean language education are in active progress. Expansion of vocabulary size is essential to successful vocabulary learning. To do this, suggesting synonyms is one way to teach learners many vocabularies. However, dictionary definitions are not enough for learners to
distinguish the significations. In particular, adverbs have many similar significations. Among them, degree adverbs have a lot of common significations, so they are often substituted with each other. However, the significances of all degree adverbs are not the same and they might vary depending on context and situation. However, Korean language learners find it difficult to distinguish the difference of the significations, which requires a specific education method and a teaching model for synonym relation degree adverbs. This is composed in the following manner. Chapter 1 suggests the importance and necessity of a learning of synonymic relation degree adverbs in Korean vocabulary learning and the purpose of this study; furthermore examines the previous studies on vocabulary education methods in Korean language education and suggests the necessity of the studies on synonymic relation degree adverbs. Chapter 2 examines the theories related to the contents of this study; organizes the establishment of synonyms and the concept of degree adverbs, and then distinguishes synonymic relation degree adverbs. As for the distinction, the difference of significations in 4 paris of synonymic relation degree adverbs were analyzed focusing on the relation with predicates by using corpus sentence examples. Chapter 3 examines a list of synonymic relation degree adverbs dealt with in Korean language education; extracts degree adverbs from 7 Korean language textbooks currently used in the Korean educational institutions to examine to usage pattern; chooses 4 pairs of synonymic relation degree adverbs; and then analyzes the state of synonym education through a questionnaire survey. Chapter 4 suggests a teaching model and an education improvement plan which can be used in Korean language education by using the syntactic, pragmatic and semantic information of degree adverbs. Chapter 5 summarizes and organizes the discussion made until now and make conclusions, suggesting future tasks This study classifies the synonymic relation degree adverbs, and based on that suggests a teaching model to teach vocabulary more systematically. Thus this study has the significance in that it prepares the guideline for teachers to distinguish the significations when teaching synonymic relation degree adverbs.
