In recent years, the Korean education has growing rapidly in quantitatively and qualitatively.
Increases of foreign Korean language students’, home and abroad, demands are growing for the educational institutions and teachers.
Cultural interchange between Korea and Japan has begun in 1998, followed in 2002 as the co-host of the World Cup, many changes has been made in the Korean education. The eye -catching point is that the Korean education has been started at high schools. The number of textbooks that are published with the Korean education is increasing day by day.
Textbooks gives learning contents and learning objectives to the learners to materialize, for the instructors it is very important basis for instructional contents, teaching methods, faculty evaluation in education.
But it is leave much to be desired that to come across new cultures in a variety of ways and be interested in cultural contents through the textbooks.
Especially from abroad rather than local, they have no opportunities to direct experience that makes many more difficulties to study of the culture of the second language. Learning culture through textbooks, therefore, it should be written with more attention for foreign students.
The culture includes the country’s societies, the spirit of the times and tradition, learn to understand culture is a shortcut to learn and understands other languages and people of the other countries more than any other field. Therefore, I think study of teaching materials; textbooks are indispensable as one of the way of cultural education.
In Chapter 2, look into the overall status of foreign language education of present condition in Japan High School.
In Chapter 3, introduce cultural analysis theory that ed in many studies, put it together to leveled the cultural content based on achievement, act, information type in Korean International General Education Standard Model Developed Step 2 published by the National Gukeowon was introduced.
In this , look at the unit and content composition refer to detailed description based on goal description and content description in the cultural education in beginners ( 1, 2 ) in Korean International General Education Standard Model Developed Step 2 and analyzed the cultural contents based on it.
In chapter 4, on the basis of analysis the cultural contents have composed the units and the cultural content for Japanese high school Korean teaching material; textbook with reference to International General Education Standard Model Developed Step 2 with the goal and Japanese government guidelines for teaching high school, and composition of cultural content of textbooks presented an illuminate the subject with examples. And in chapter 5 in conclusion, suggested with study be composed in future organize contents as mentioned. Think of the high school students that they are in youth, therefore high school textbook is required that present various fields, an introduction to the culture of the new generation and linguistic expression that they would find it interesting so students could be able to grow their Korean language proficiency based on interesting, the high school textbook is needed.
Also textbooks should be provide a variety of direct and indirect opportunity to experience the culture of Korea in the development of understanding and amicable future relationship of between the two countries.
Without the cultural education, foreign language education is nothing more than a simple letters education. In other words, Korean language education should be accompanying Cultural Education to be able to correct understanding Korean culture and accepted. Because of this minimized cultural bias and an in-depth understanding on the Korean the true communication and share culture and basic education to be come a global cultural citizenship.
