Korea and China both have a long history and splendid cultures, so the linguistic performances of the two countries are also very affluent. Among them, the folk adage has spread through the ancestors’ oral transmissions. The folk adage is a brief statement which contains life experience, wisdom, history, etc. So, idiom learning is not only a part of language, but also culture learning. What is more, the idioms are used frequently by Korean people in their daily lives, so the learning of slang is very necessary in the study of Korean.
This ’s objective is focused on proverbs which are closely related to human life, and this analyzes the characteristics that Korea proverbs and Chinese proverbs have in common, and it proposes an educational scheme for the Korean learners in China to more easily learn the folk adage.
This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter presents the thesis research purpose and the necessity of such a purpose. The second chapter expounds the concept and characteristics of slang, and explains the meaning of proverbs in education. The third chapter draws the conclusion that Korean Proverb education must correspond with Chinese proverbs through comparing the two kinds of idioms which are related to language and the concluding the similarities of the two idioms. The fourth chapter focuses on the quantity of proverbs which is related to language, and indicates that the quantity is so small through an analysis of proverbs published by the Republic of Korea, and comes to the conclusion that the proverbs that related to language must be increased in Korea due to the fact that proverbs are closely related to the importance of daily life. The fifth chapter sums up the contents of the proverbs that are related to language based on primary, intermediate, and advanced standards and presents the effective education schemes regarding the proverbs. The sixth chapter reaches a comprehensive conclusion of all the details mentioned above.
The purpose of this is try to find approaches which change the mechanical usage of slang to a more flexible use on education, like: vocabulary, culture, language skills, and to help Chinese learners improve their level of Korean learning more effectively.
