A study on methodology of teaching Konglish in Korean language education

This research intends to re-establish the status of "Konglish" in linguistical text, set forth the need to teach "Konglish" vocabularies and come up with effective teaching methods for such so as to provide a helping hand to Korean-language leaners and instructors in the teaching of "Konglish" vocabularies.
Among the various research pertaining to Korean-language education, there is foreign languages-related researches, however, still has an absence of researches that focus on the area of "Konglish". It is true, however, "Konglish" is included in the foreign language category as Korean-style foreign language and is under various on-going researchers. But it is safe to say that it would be inappropriate to conduct such researches without conceptualizing the identity of “Konglish.”
Various loanwords have been created in the Korean language itself, dramatically increasing the use of "Konglish". If Korean-language education fails to faithfully reflect such changes in the language, the learners will probably feel the discrepancies between the actual and the academic language and thus this research begins.
The first chapter comprises of the purpose of this research, preliminary research bearing on this research itself and the methods. With the preliminary research, this takes a look in to the preliminary research on loans words and shed lights on the main subject and the implication.
The second chapter focuses on digging deeper in to the reason for the need to conduct education on "Konglish" vocabularies. In section 2-1, the concept of "Konglish" and the status of such in linguistic have been re-established. Following, in section 2-2, the multitudes' perception of "Konglish" was covered and the need to educate such based on the survey result from speakers of Korean as their first language and foreigner learners of the Korean language.
In third chapter, "Konglish" has been extracted and effective teaching methods by different functions have also been suggested. In section 3-1, "Konglish" has been extracted from textbooks and drama scripts to obtain clearer view on the current situation on the "Konglish" used in communication. In the next section, 3-2, using the extracted "Konglish", teaching methods for different functions have been suggested.
"Konglish" is in the continuous process of creation with various engagements with different cultures and in various social backdrops. In this context, Korean-language education to enable actual communication, such research on "Konglish" education must stay in place for the years to come.
