Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language for research mainly focused on immigrant women but this study concerned about the children in multi-cultural families by expanding the region that affect their language development and talked about those variables. In addition, specifically investigated children's language development and children's language development among regions by expanding its scope to big cities, small cities and rural areas. And variables are limited home environment variables from the previous studies had reveal. Through the above process I found which areas have different and what is the reason.
This study revealed a difference between big cities and small cities children's language development in multi-cultural family and variables that affect the acceptance vocabulary turned out 'Mothers' Korean learning period and 'Children's outside educational institutions hours', variables that affect the expression vocabulary turned out 'Ratio using Korean in the home'.
As independent variables that affect the acceptance vocabulary turned out 'Mother lived in South Korea', 'Mother's subjective listening skills', 'Children's outside educational institutions availability', 'Children's using terms of outside the educational institutions'. And variables that affect the expression vocabulary turned out 'Mother's age',' Korean using ratio in the home',' Children's using terms outside the educational institutions'.
Through this research result I hope that regional policy has been marginalized will be more active and provide the high quality of education to multi-cultural families.
During the course of this study, the regret point is not an objective investigation of 'Mother's Korean skills'. Diagnostic tools considering the uniqueness of the mother language will should be developed as soon as possible. So research on multi-cultural families hope to be able to accelerate. Finally, through multi-cultural families child's language development survey only looked at the child's current developmental state, from now on the not only current state but whether the current language developmental delay continues should be investigated periodically. If continued a steady language developmental delays, it may be language disorders rather than late compared to normal children's language development. Therefore, long-term support for language disorders will be provided.
