The most representative difficulty among difficulties that married female immigrants experience in the life in Korea may be language problems. Language is primary means of communication and most of the married female immigrants began life in Korea in a state that they can't speak Korean language well.
Compared with other languages, in Korean language, terms of address and terms of reference are subdivided very delicately and if speakers do not express terms of address and terms of reference properly, it can cause unnecessary misunderstanding. Therefore, it is necessary for married female immigrants to express terms of address and terms of reference properly so that they can maintain good human relationships.
For this purpose, this study is to present a method for effective education of terms of address and terms of reference for married female immigrants.
In chapter 1, purposes of research, method of research and preliminary studies were described.
In chapter 2, concept, types, function and choice variable of terms of address were examined. It was found that married female immigrants have more difficulty in using kinship terms of reference between kinship terms of address and kinship terms of reference and have more difficulty in using maternal terms of address between fraternal terms of address and maternal terms of address and had difficulty in expressing terms of respect.
In chapter 3, cognitive ability for terms of address and terms of reference was compared through questionnaire survey of terms of address and terms of reference. It was found that there was significant effect of education. In chapter 3, terms of address and terms of reference in Korean textbook for married female immigrants were analyzed to seek improvement.
In chapter 4, effective educational method on the use of terms of address and terms of reference for married female immigrants was proposed. As education on vocabulary should be given in advance for education on terms of address, vocabulary list in which terms of address were classified into basic level, intermediate level and advanced level was presented. 'Drawing genealogical chart', 'crossword', 'meaning map of kinship terms', 'drawing meaning map', 'role playing' 'explanation on calling title by using cards', 'using terms of address considering terms of respect' and 'applying correct concept and forming principle of vocabulary' were presented as educational methods.
This study aims to present a method for effective education of terms of address and terms of reference for married female immigrants. Primary educational method was presented. The limit of this study is that educational method was not presented based on studying more diverse married female immigrants living in Korea. This limit should be improved through further study.
