The starting point of this research begins from the difficulties which suffered by the people who is learning Korean in KFL environment.
Through preceding researches, by using audio and video materials such as Korean TV dramas, it is certain that it could solve some of the problems that is suffered by the learners who is in KFL environment.
First of all, because the TV dramas contains languages which is used in real life, it can stand comparison with other resources as a study materials.
And for delivering communications, not only linguistic elements but also non-linguistic elements are also important. Because the TV dramas contain such as speaker's facial expressions and gestures through out the vidual, it gives chance to experience to study the non-linguistic elements.
Futhermore, because TV dramas are materials which contain both vidual and sound materials, it can draw out interests from the learners who prefers and used to the alike materials, and by doing so it can improve the will to study. Therefore it is known that TV dramas are very useful materials to learners who is in KFL environment.
In this research, according to the given standards ⌜Old Miss Diary⌟ is chosen as the material for teaching Korean listening skills using TV dramas.
Firstly, teaching schedule is given, and by the schedule ⌜Old Miss Diary⌟ is used for planning plans to teach; study and then gave learning activities and learning materials by the steps. The final goal of these activities are improving the language skills of the students.
However, during the research, the activities using TV dramas can be disturbing and cannot achieve the expected level of the study, in the absence of the sufficient preparation of the lecturer. Therefore, when using TV dramas as a teaching material it is necessary for the lecturer to prepare sufficiently in advance.
Finally, in this research, it suggests a model of teaching but since it is not used in a real class activities yet, so it is not certain to its effectiveness when applied in a real class activities.
Therefore, further researches should be followed for the effectiveness of this research topic when it is applied in actual class activities.
