The SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) plays an increasingly significant role in the process of the rapid development of world economy. For more return than before, the enterprises need continuous innovation in the knowledge-based economy. And the entrepreneur is also important for the growth and development of an enterprise. So the entrepreneur is attached importance for a enterprise. Comparing with those large businesses, there are shortage of human resource, operation capacity, skills and capital for the SMEs, which call for the strategic choices and concentration from the entrepreneurs. The SMEs is becoming dependent on external network while positive about the usage of external resources. What’s more, existing for a long time, guanxi has becoming a part of Chinese culture in China. Therefore, the article will make comparative research with objects, the SMEs in South Korea and Chinese enterprises with special business culture. The main objects of the research are entrepreneurial orientation, external network, management innovation, firm's performance. Meanwhile, the article will discuss the effect of management innovation as the intermediate variable between the entrepreneurial orientation and firm`s performance. And the article will find the influence of external network adjustment on the entrepreneurial orientation and the innovation activities. The research model among the variables in this study was as flows: ◁그림 삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요) The questionnaire survey is making in South Korea and China at the same time. In South Korea, the entrepreneurs of those SMEs, located at Busan, Chungnam, Daejeon, ect, are chosen. While in China, those at Beijing, Shanghai, Shandong Province and Hunan Province. Finally, 223 of 300 questionnaires from South Korea and 237 of 300 questionnaires from China are used. With those questionnaires, the article tests the above hypothesis by SPSS Statistics 21. The research results are summarized as follows. Firstly, the entrepreneurial orientation has positive effect for innovation Activities. Secondly, the entrepreneurial orientation has positive effect for firm’s performance. Thirdly, the positive effect of produce innovation and service innovation to firm’s performance shows the interpersonal relationship within the management innovation and firm’s performance. Comparing with the Chinese enterprises, the service innovation of Korean enterprises effects the firm’s performance more, but the effect of produce innovation is less in South Korea than in China. Fifthly, the innovation activities plays the medium effect between the entrepreneurial orientation and the firm’s performance. Fifthly, the effects of entrepreneurial orientation to nnovation Activities. are different in South Korea and China if we regard the external network as a variables. The external network can not adjust the effect of entrepreneurial orientation to management innovation in South Korea, while in China it can adjust. It means that Chinese enterprises pay more attention to build the social network than South Korean firms.
