The aim of this is to research the national competitiveness of china's tea industry. With a long history, tea has been a featured agricultural product of the big country which is famous for the tea production, export and consumption. After thousand years, why china is still playing the leading role in the world tea market, where is the competitive advantage, those are what will research. Based on the theory of Professor Porter's Diamond Model, this introduced the factor conditions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, firm strategy, structure and rivalry and the role of the government about China's tea industry. The research result indicates that, benefit from the various climatic characteristics, vast cultivated area, completed infrastructural facilities, investment and construction on the tea research center from the government, tea industry develops well and keeps a level of competitive advantage. China has a population of nearly 14 hundred million, as an important role in traditional cooking culture, tea has always been the popular consumption goods among the broad masses, the huge domestic market has promoted its development continually. With the development of science and technology in the recent years, tea is being further researched and applied in various areas. However, China industry has been initially slow to develop, legs behind that of the advanced countries, because of which, tea mechanized production has not made any breakthrough, and this has already hinder its development. In order to survive in the fierce competition of the market, China tea companies has made efforts to differentiate its production and service, and some big large enterprises also develop product diversification to make more benefits. Tea industry has been continuously upgrading in the fierce competition of domestic market. For the sake of better development, China government has given preferential policies and support to tea growers and enterprises in the investment in research and development, product policy and export policy,which is playing a positive role in the tea industry development.
