Within the expansion of mobile devices, working environment is changing into mobile working environment. Software services are being developed or transformed into the mobile services or specialized services. One of the outstanding business services is Unified Communication. UC includes mobile working service, but due to the limited telecom infrastructure and mobile device, it was not able to implement its function. Recently, with the rapid development of communication infrastructure, development of device technology, and supply of mobile device, UC has met the new era of change as the mobile service. Therefore, the early concept of UC needs to be changed considering technology progress and similar service functions. This study was preceded not within technology perspective but through social perspective for the mobile UC service to introduce and lead to sustainable use. This study is consisted of two subjects; composing direction of mUC through the comparison of SNS and mUC users and drawing factors of satisfaction and sustainable use in SNS and mUC based on the Theory of Communicative Action. The study suggests similarity and difference between mUC and SNS which influence mUC in many ways, and required functions of mUC as to become the communication tool of a company. Firstly, SNS and mUC were compared in the aspects of using purpose of life-world reproduction based on Habermas's the Theory of Communicative Action. Through the comparison, differences of behavioral or locutionary purpose and function of life-world reproduction were analyzed. Also, the possibility of the user characteristics(using time, age, and working type), SNS using time, and mUC using time influencing the above facts was reviewed. Secondly, the required factors of mUC for sustainable usage were checked through the identical logic of factors that makes SNS a sustainable service. There have been several studies over satisfaction and sustainable usage of SNS due to its influence on personal life and society. However, as mUC is still at the stage of technology and service research, implications were drawn out through the research of social influence on mUC status within the identical logical structure. The study showed that SNS and mUC have similar and different aspects, and they also influence each other. SNS and mUC had different usage purpose. However, both made similar influence on society. There was a difference of using purpose and social influence, and both services were influenced by similar user characteristic. Purpose of service usage was influencing life-world reproduction, and this resulted on sustainable usage through satisfaction. SNS was influencing the sustainable use and satisfaction of mUC, but mUC on the other hand was not affecting those of SNS. This study contributes on verifying the social perspective factors for adopting and sustaining the mUC service, and deducting the implications through comparison with SNS which is a similar personal communication service. This study will be referenced to mUC research with other SNS research results, and will be contributive logically and for actual working environment through communication theory frame that was structured throughout the study.
