Due to the possibility of occurrence of serious industrial accidents, Process Safety Management System that came into effect as the Industrial Safety and Health Act obliged submission of a process safety has settled down preventing serious accidents and achieving economic effect.
To improve the level of Process Safety Management of the places of business that are subject to PSM(Process Safety Management), however, current differential management system cannot be an ultimate solution, and a measure that induces settlement and continuous improvement of process safety culture is achieving recognition as a desirable solution.
Therefore, this study, for the purpose of applying to domestic and foreign PSM places of business, optimized function, item and quantitative evaluation methods of measurement methods to be used in this study by investigating literature related to process safety culture, understanding trends of domestic and foreign process safety cultures and comparing·analyzing measurement tools developed and utilized with respect to the measurement of foreign process safety culture. To understand suitability of a measurement method to be used in this study, this study made the tool effective to be used in places of business by applying to the businesses with much interest in the spread of process safety culture on a trial basis and establishing improvement plans for problems according to the measurement results.
