(¿De donde venis, amare?)>, 제 4곡 <저는 포폴라 나무가 있는 곳에 다녀왔어요, 어머니 (De los alamos vengo, madre)>으로 이루어진다. 본 논문은 작품의 이해를 돕기 위하여 그가 영향을 받은 19세기 스페인 민족주의 작곡가들과 그들의 작품에 관한 연구를 선행하고 로드리고의 생애와 작품경향을 연구한 후 <네 개의 사랑의 마드리갈 (Cuatro Madrigales Amatorios)>을 분석하고자 한다.

At the age of 3, he suffered from Diphtheria, after which he lost the sight. Despite being deprived of eyesight, he left outstanding masterpieces, with a remarkable unceasing passion for music. He composed music in various genres, from orchestra, chorus, ballet, play, to theater, and about 60 pieces of songs. Cuatro Madrigales Amatorios is Rodrigo’s major work. It was presented in 1947 for Piano and vocal music, and was arranged for orchestra in 1948. Cuatro Madrigales Amatorios is used as lyrics to four Spanish poetries about music, and is made from phrases like, ¿Con che la lavare?, Vos me matasteis, ¿De donde venis, amare?, De los alamos vengo, madre . Before delving into Cuatro Madrigales Amatorios, this tries to look at the composer’s efforts to preserve spanish musical nationalism. Rodrigo studied music history, used traditional music and dance of each region, and composed nationalist music by rearranging guitar music that had been used in traditional music into piano. Rodrigo’s Cuatro madrigales AmatorIos took rhythms of melisma from Spanish traditional music, and converted guitar sounds?frequently used in Spanish music?into piano. It also used Ostinato which is frequently used in Baroque, and repetitively used consecutive fifths also known as parallel fifths, inspired from impressionism. This piece is high in level of difficulty, due to the fancy scales of wide vocal range and the techniques.
