Can the modern technology that we use today have a change culture?
Technology directly affects the way humans live .In addition, technology has been advancing on pace with general purpose technology, is an integral part of technology information dependent industries and has an important role in our economies.
The sociocultural view of globalization sees countries with cultural differences constantly combining and homogenizing. Why should we research the relationship between technology and culture? We do this to shed light on the cultural framework and find areas for further research. Using social identity theory and the virtual onion model(Straub, Loch, Evaristo, Karahanna &Srite,2001). we can enrich the social identity between nations.
It can also improve our adoption and use of new technology. Through this research it has been found that the development of technology has proved to have a positive effect on the quality of individualism, there is a decrease in power distance index and a correlation between uncertainty and wealth.
Previous research has revealed that increased individualism and the correlation between power and wealth is a product of increased national wealth and increased leisure time of its citizens. On the other hand, the development of technology proves that the level of individualism increases as a result of the ability of employees to work outside of their official places of employment through the use of computers, smart -phones, etc.
Creation and adoption of new technologies decreases the uncertainty aspect, and the Diffusion of technology can increase uncertainty. The current research has also given a possible explanation for the correlation between uncertainty and the diffusion and adoption of new technology. When technology diffusion, the Eastern Philosophical concept of long-term orientation is shown to be positively associated with technology.
As for adoption and use of technology, the role of culture is important for many reasons. First of all, we can recognize the importance of national culture and organizational culture in establishing the ability of the overall culture to adapt, finding efficiency in merging with different cultures and overcoming potential obstacles of these tasks(Pliskin & Weber.1993).
Scholars are focusing on the diffusion of advanced information technology(Huber,1990) and the importance of a more comprehensive understanding of culture and cultures. Technology in the 21st century global world will increase the available information regarding culture. In this environment the problems between technology and culture need to be better understood and opinions regarding validity and applicability regarding new working techniques that utilize different personal values and technology can clash on many different points.
Using data points from the sociocultural aspect of internationalisation and technological determinism, including the technical influence of national cultures and values, technology acceptance, technology innovation variables, and other variables such as patent research, we suggest a new research model. Geert Hofstede mentioned in his research that the relationship between uncertainty avoidance and economic wealth have differing values determined by geographical location and time. He says that outside of war(WWII), it has been difficult to find statistical data that explains the dynamic of uncertainty avoidance.
The results our research into the statistical data have found that the development of technology decreases uncertainty, particularly when the relationship between technology and culture is considered but factoring for economic wealth rapidly increases uncertainty.
The current research has theorized that economic wealth and uncertainty has the effect of both positive and negative, and our research proves that economic wealth has a strong positive factor whereas the development of technology has a strong effect of negative.
This is evidence supporting the current theory. Our research shows that development of technology highly influences deep human values. Countries researched were not categorized by level of economic development or OECD ranking, rather how the development of technology influences cultural value, using Hofstede’s cultural variable and technology variable.
Through this research, we hope to have a positive influence on multinational corporations entering local areas in the future.
This thesis is valuable in organizing the theoretical disagreement by separating the single technology variable into the variables of technology creation, technology diffusion and technology acceptance. Furthermore, the data points used in this research are from World Economic Forum, World Development Indicator and International Telecommunication Union. In order to understand and develop social evolution and progress, we tried to use data that is fair and verifiable.

Key terms: technology development, technology diffusion, technology creation, technology capability, cultural dimension, world economic forum, world bank, International Telecommunication Union.
