The purpose of this study was to describe sex differences in vocabulary awareness of fashion through analyzing vocabularies in fashion-related online news articles. Data for this study were from vocabularies in fashion-related section of online news including Chosun Ilbo and Joongang Ilbo. They were classified into four categories such as a group of origin, a group of part of speech, a group of meaning, and a group of morpheme. Furthermore, they were analyzed to investigate the sex difference between male and female in their use. For example, native tongue and Sino-Chinese words were used more in the text of male fashion than that of female. However, female seemed to use more loanwords than male. In terms of using part of speech, nouns and adjectives were used highly. Therefore, part of speech was divided into an analysis of nouns and adjectives. In addition, female preferred skirts, dress, and one-piece dress; male preferred shirts, suit, and necktie. Also, female preferred chromatic colors; male preferred achromatic colors. In the case of adjective, there was no great difference in the type of vocabularies used; however, there was a great difference in frequency of using them. In terms of meaning, vocabularies were classified into hierarchical relation, synonyms, and antonyms. Female used more vocabularies of skirts than male. However, the number of sub-vocabularies of male was higher than that of female in the case of male pants. Also, in terms of morpheme, vocabularies were divided into prefix and suffix. In general, articles related with female were higher than those with male in their volume. The same phenomenon was for the quantity of vocabulary, which meant the majority of fashion industry still focused on female than male and the difference of volume and the frequency of using vocabulary were derived from those differences of scope of fashion area. ,韩语论文范文,韩语论文范文 |
