한 언어사회 구성원들의 의사소통은 그들이 사용하는 언어가 통일되어 있을 때 더욱 효과적이다. 이와 같은 필요성과 가치에 따라 맞춤법, 표준어, 외래어표기 등이 망라된 국어 정서법은 일상의 언어생활에 있어 올바른 기준이 될 뿐만 아니라 우리말을 아름답게 가꾸어 나아갈 나침반의 역할도 하게 된다. 바른 언어 생활에 필요하고 정확한 문장을 구사하기 위해서는 맞춤법과 표준어를 꾸준히 익혀야 한다. 그리고 이런 맞춤법과 표준어는 오류 분석을 통해서 끊임없이 검토되고 분석을 통하여 피드백 되어야 한다.
본 연구는 대전에 소재하고 있는 남녀 고등학교학생을 대상으로 한글 맞춤법과 표준어 인지 실태를 분석하였다. 그리고 그 실증적인 결과를 토대로 맞춤법과 표준어 지도에 활용할 수 있도록 하여 교육현장에서 바람직한 어문규정에 대한 교육이 이루어지도록 하는데 목적을 두었는데, 그 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 한글자모의 명칭에 대한 문제를 지적할 수 있다.
둘째, 합성어의 두음법칙과 부사화 접미사에 대한 오답률이 가장 높았다.
셋째, 사이시옷에 관한 규정을 많이 혼동하였다.
넷째, 의존 명사에 대한 띄어쓰기를 올바르게 사용하고 있지 않았다.
다섯째, 실제 발음과 표기의 혼동에서 오류를 보였다.
여섯째, 겹받침에 대한 표준 발음이 매우 취약함이 드러났다.
일곱째, 외래어 표기법에서는 70~90%의 높은 정답률을 보였다.
이런 점으로 미루어 볼 때, 학생들의 언어에 대한 오류 실태를 줄이기 위해서는 학교 현장에서 독서 교육을 활성화시켜 학생들로 하여금 다양한 언어를 자주 접할 수 있도록 하는 것이 가장 좋은 대안이라 여겨진다. 또한 학생들에게 소외된 문법과 작문 과목이 필수 과목으로 다시 자리매김을 하고 수학능력시험에 이들의 출제비율을 높인다면 자연스럽게 학생들은 우리 언어에 대한 올바른 시각과 관심을 갖게 될 것이다.

The aim of this study is to try to reduce the errors of language regulations in a life of speaking. For the study, I analyzed rules of spelling in Korean language, Standard Language regulation, the understanding of foreign language transcribe rules which are the basic knowledge of a life of speaking. The study objects were 390 high school students, 198 female students and 192 male students. As a conclusion, it earned the seven results as follows;
At first, it is pointed out the problem that is the title of Korean alphabet related to language rules. Even though the alphabet is a root of speaking, a lot of students does not know about the roots. That's why they don't have a confidence of Korean language and even they don't know the value of it.
Second, the most errors in Korean orthography were 'NamjonYeobi'(남존여비:87.3%) and 'Soljikhi'(솔직히:87%). In case of 'NamjonYeobi', they think that it is a single word, they don't apply 'Dueum-rules' in there. In case of 'Soljikhi', it is an adverb, they confused to use on 'yi'(이) and 'hi'(히). So it is necessary to arrange the usage of 'yi' and 'hi' exactly.
Third, the most confusing matters in orthography is 'saisiot'(사이시옷). it is limited to 6 items in chinese language, but in case of Korean it insert sometimes or not.
By this reason, in case of 'jeonsetjip'(전셋집) There were wrong answers to show 48.5% in female students and 66.3% in male students. It must be rearrange on that 'saisiot'(사이시옷).
Fourth, in case of dependance noun, it has to be correctness on that spacing word case, 60% of the students use it as a attached style. It is because they use it mechanically in their speaking habits. Using for the course of Korean language and Reading time, they must train to writing skills.
Fifth, there are some confusing errors in actual pronunciations and writings. In case of 'halge'(할게), when they pronounce it 'Halgge'(할께). It is a miss match between pronounce and writing. This error showed to 63.1%. The 'kagdugi‘(깍두기) and 'beopsuk'(법석) was same errors. Fortunately some miss matched words was rearranged to standard words lately. They must write it repeatedly.
Sixth, In a final orthography in Korean language, there were some errors shoed up. There were over 90% of final orthography exposed such as 'balbda‘(밟다), ’balbgo‘(밟고) and neobjukhada'(넓죽하다). It's because that they don't have enough understandings on the consonant simplification.
Seventh, In case of foreign language transcribe rules, it showed 70% of errors. It was a lower than Korean language's case. It means that foreign language has been used to widely in Korea recently. In Mass media's language and school education, Foreign language encroached to the speaking life. We have to use Korean more than ever.
In this study, as the recognition realities in language rules are investigated in high school students, it showed up the speaking life's realities and it's problems. According to insufficient objects and limit vocabulary, it's not enough to make a conclusion. But under this study, the actual Korean language education will be grow up in Korean society, and Korean people concentrated about the life of speakings continuously.
