Nowadays, a lot of advertisements have poured out various media like news, TV, Internet, etc. Interest about ads have been the higher and the higher. Ads have a great influence on present-day life. People can read a news ads, when people read a news Writers usually use simple and easy expression in news ads. Accordingly character about ads help us get well with language and culture. Also there are the thought of the times, clearness, and sensibility for characteristic of ads. Therefore the will be study a way to use foreign language teaching by ads.
Especially it is remarkably important to a medium of a ad showing sociality and culture in historical stream.
95.4% of Japanese have read a news. So we can guess a life of Japanese by news ads. News ads not only result from interest as getting social and culture character, but also can actively bring about participation that is easy to study of language.
The investigates a paradigm of the Japanese' education appearing their news ads.
First of all, let us see an object which is the vocabulary of news ads in 「asahi news」, selecting December, 2004, and January, February, 2005 that is total three month materials.
We will select one hundred ads a year. So we gets the total three hundred newss.
The criterion is daily ads. It is most of ads to use simple and easy languages and to occupy a great space. We gets even about 3 or 4 s a day. At this time, we will select analytic vocabularies, Headline, among three hundred ads. and we classifies vocabularies abstracted in news ads. These vocabularies divide into a part of speech classes. The best part of speech class is noun. It is about 60% in the sum of 806 vocabularies. And the order of classes show a verb, an adjective.
Noun can divided into a common noun, a proper noun, a pronoun, a quantity noun , a formal noun.
We can usually use the common noun. So we try to see the details of the noun and inscriptive. then it will be classified meaningful and When we meaningfully classify a noun, it doesn't lean to special meaning field but use various vocabularies in the whole of life. In the midst of it, especially people use vocabularies about society and themselves.
As they are seen, we will study news vocabulary in Japanese society and culture. There are inscriptive a Chines character, a word of foreign origin with presenting emphasis 「katakana」. Hiragana isn't that much due to Japanese character too much synonym. It may have feel that Chines character is difficult to beginning learner. But it is useful to teach Chinese learning as we presents funny ads. And people use easy vocabulary for beginning learner in the higher order of frequency. Besides it isn't much verb, adjective, adverb, and so on.
Especially as we looks into the higher order of frequency, people usually use easy words. They help us understand character about ads expression.
It's worthy of using the sum of 806 words to compare with 7th curriculum of 825 words of basic vocabulary. Ministry of education & Human Resources Development ed 825 words of basic words but they except that of prefix and suffix in 833 words of basic words.
Generally we use 334 words in common. As we investigates ads, we can know that it's about 41.4% words to learn Japanese in current curriculum. Therefore it can be useful to current curriculum aggressively.
The suggests a teaching program to learn Japanese as we abstracts ads.
It divide into the vocabulary field and culture field. They composed of them simultaneously and frequently. Specially they are useful to learn a foreign word and social culture. It often use from learning a foreign word and social culture.
As we uses current newss, on the spot, we gets interests and current topics. In consequence, people will be required of using news ads for Japanese teaching actively. But Japanese news ads have a limit that doesn't access easily like a media of broadcasting. And it is difficult to interest in students much more than adult's reader. But teacher can prepare with more interest and funny ads for overcoming a limit. Moreover they should recommend that students successfully use Japanese news lying library, introduce internet sit to contact with information easily.
Though students doesn't interested in news, media of broadcasting can be enough to encourage them for foreign language learning. Therefore it is desirable that news ads as subtext can attract to use interesting study with textbook.
The only have a beginning level to use news ads for Japanese educational research. There are inconvenienced to show up analysis result because they doesn't have much of research range.
Therefore we need to search for using Japanese news ads to educate students, which is based on the with ads vocabulary analyzed extensively.
