In modern society there are a lot of raid changes due to the advent of computer and internet. So language also are coming to be many languages by the effects of globalized net-work. New-concept terms and information which did no exist before are diminishing and forming everyday keeping pace with the development of technology. At this point of time, terminologies come to play a important role in all parts of society. Therefore in this study, I search that what is the peculiarity of the term related to the computer in Korea comparing with Japan in the PC environment which we touch the computer everyday and analyze the difference of acception toward the terms between two nations, finally, I research the indiscriminate borrowing of Japanese terms. The results of my study are as follows.
First, it is striking that borrowing of Japanese terms to the general PC terms is still existing in many part of Korean. It is serious problem in Korea.
Secondly, in comparative analysing Windows XP terms, the manual which is translated into Korean is 32.3% the highest of all, in Korean, but in Japan the manual which is mentioned as borrowed word in the way of カタカナ is 44.6%, the highest. This is the difference of consciousness between two nations. Add to this, it is usually considered that the using rate of foreign words in general PC terms if more than in windows manual operating system which we usually use familiarly everyday, but actually, the using rate of foreign words is more in latter.
Thirdly, in the process of Koreanization of foreign words, there are some faults which are misdescribed and misapplied, and cause some confusion due to the unification among the companies which develop the computer programs.
Standardization and adjusting such these words should be studied urgently. In this study, I point out the fact that there have been a lot of borrowing the foreign words in many studies till now, and comparing to the past studies which have maintained the Koreanization of foreign words, I compare that the whole use of Korean is useful or not with the examples in Japan. After all, it is not the only answer to Koreanize the Japanese in Korean society, but to Koreanize the Japanese which can be translated properly, and we should consider the confusion which is due to the excessive Koreanization and the description of the foreign words of the original language is necessary to convey the meaning exactly. Finally, considering the other countries' examples, the government, the private corporations and the related authorities should take the lead in solving these problems systematically

현대사회는 컴퓨터와 인터넷의 등장으로 인하여 급속한 변화를 겪고 있다. 이에 따라 언어 또한 범세계적 네트워크화의 영향으로 다국어화 되어가고 있다. 기존에 존재하지 않던 신개념 용어들과 정보들이 기술의 발달과 더불어 하루가 다르게 생겨나고 소멸되어간다. 이러한 시점에서 사회 전분야에 걸쳐서 전문용어는 대단히 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 따라서 이번에 다루고자 하는 것은 우리가 항상 접하고 있는 pc환경 속에서 쓰여지는 컴퓨터관련 전문용어들이 일본과 비교하여 어떠한 특징을 나타내고 있으며, 양국의 전문용어 수용에 대한 차이점을 분석하고 마지막으로 아직도 우리사회 전반에 걸쳐 나타나고 있는 무분별한 일본식용어의 차용은 없었는지를 알아보았다. 그 결과는 다음과 같이 정리될 수 있다.
첫째로 일반pc용어에서는 지금까지도 우리나라 사회 여러 분야에서 문제가 되고 있는 일본식용어의 사용이 두드러졌다.
둘째로 원도우즈xp용어의 비교, 분석에서는 한국은 순우리말은 아니지만, 한글화한 매뉴얼이 전체의 32.3%정도로 가장 높았고, 일본은 외래어를カタカナ그대로 표기하는 방식이 44.6%로 가장 높았다. 이는 두 나라의 외래어 사용의식의 차이라고도 볼 수 있다. 또 한 가지 외래어의사용비율이 더 높을 것이라 생각되던 일반 pc용어보다 우리가 항상 친숙하게 사용하는 윈도우즈 운영체제안의 매뉴얼에서 외래어의사용비중이 더 높았다.
셋째로 한글화 과정에서 외래어의표기가 잘못되거나 잘못 사용하는 경우도 있었으며, 여러 프로그램개발 업체간의 용어가 일원화되지 못하여 혼란을 불러온 경우도 있었다.
이러한 용어들의 개념정립과 표준화도 시급히 연구되어야 한다. 이번 연구에서는 지금까지 각종연구에서 일본식용어의 사용을 지적하고, 한글화를 주장했던 기존의 연구들에 반해, 과연 한글 전용론만이 우리에게 이로운 것인지를 일본의 용어 사용 예와 비교하여 보았다. 결국 일본식용어의 한글화만이 우리사회가 풀어야 할 해답이 아니라 한글화 할 수 있는 것은 하되, 무리한 한글화가 가져올 혼란에 대해서도 생각해봐야 할 것이며, 원어의 외래어 표기도 원래의 의미전달에 있어서는 꼭 필요한 단계라고 봐야 한다. 마지막으로 이러한 문제들을 외국의 사례를 보더라도 정부나 관계기관, 민간 기업들이 앞장서서 체계적으로 연구해야 한다고 본다.
