The study of English Contrastive Discourse Markers has been of interest in sociolinguistic research. This particular study analyzes the variation of Korean English Learners’Acquisition on Contrastive Discourse Markers preference in a given context. Korean high school students’awareness of the English Contrastive Discourse Markers is investigated and compared with that of native speakers, using the basis of a corpus (COCA) study and vocabulary network software. A number of researchers (Schiffrin, 1997; Fraser, 1997; Blakemore, 1998; Sin, 1989; Ann, 1992) assert that Contrastive Discourse Markers plays a key role in communication and are needed to study the areas among Education, Literature, Occupation between Korean and Foreigners. In accordance with this perspective, The purpose of the study is to probe the following research questions; (1) How do Korean L2 learners recognize on English Contrastive Discourse Marker's scope? (2) Based on (1), Is there a difference between Korean L2 learners' English Contrastive Discourse Markers and English L1 on preference? (3) Is there any difference between Korean L2 learners' English Contrastive Discourse Markers and English L1 on the ability of usage. (4) Is there any relevance of the English ability on the usage of Korean L2 learners' English Contrastive Discourse Markers? Based on the discussion of the Contrastive Discourse Markers analysis, 139 Korean high school students were examined for their awareness of the usage of each Contrastive Discourse Marker and compared them to Foreigners according to their English proficiency. The results of this study were revealed most of Korea English Learners didn't know the Contrastive Discourse Markers where English Contrastive Discourse Markers' Cognition wasn't related to the Korea English Learners' capabilities. Although Korea English Learners got higher score, they didn't always get higher score. Also, there is the correlation such as the score of English Contrasitve Discourse Markers' usage ability, Korea Mock Test, The Cognitive Evaluation of English ability that Korean who got the higher score on Cognitive evaluation had more excellent score of English Contrasitive Discourse Markers' usage ability than those whose had higher Korea Mock Test among the Korean groups. These findings suggest that learners become more sensitive to the Contrastive Discourse Markers' Acquisition as English instructors related to specific explanation of Contrastive Discourse Markers' usage to their students. Their use of proper Contrastive Discourse Markers allows them to process and produce fluent language.
