A study on the acquisition of Auxiliary Verbs of Korean by Kazakh learners The purpose of this study is to estimate the difficulty of learning to classify the auxiliary verb of Korean and the auxiliary verb of Kazakh according to form and meaning and then to make clear acquisition aspects of Korean auxiliary verb by Kazakh learners. This study is classified based on the similarity and semantic transparency between Korean auxiliary verb and Kazakh auxiliary verb, and set the corresponding relationship. This study is examined the acquisition aspects of Korean auxiliary verb by Kazakh learners depending on the difficulty predicted through the corresponding relationship of auxiliary verb between two languages. For this, grammatical judgement experiments to 45 people of Kazakh Korean learners and for the accuracy of the results, the same experiments to 22 people of Chinese Korean learners, were conducted. In Chapter 1, it described the purpose and method of this research. In addition, it made sure the necessity of the study by examining the preliminary research on the auxiliary verb of two languages. Although there were the comparison studies on case markers, auxiliary particles, and auxiliary verb between Kazakh and Korean, there were no studies on the acquisition aspects of Kazakh learners yet. Chapter 2 is about the theoretical background. The auxiliary verbs of Korean and Kazakh were examined in detail. In addition, the auxiliary verbs of two languages were classified and standard for setting the corresponding relationship was described. The correspondence relationship between two languages classified according to Difficulty Level 6 Steps Hierarchy Hypotheses of Prator (1967) and Semantic Transparency of Kellerman (1977) was presented. In Chapter 3, research questions and research hypotheses, and experiment subjects, experiment tools, and experiment procedures were described. Chapter 4 is about the experiment results analysis. The experiment to find out the acquisition aspects of Korean auxiliary verb was conducted with the subject of 45 people of Kazakh leaners. It was predicted that the higher similarity between two languages is, the higher semantic transparency of Korean auxiliary verb is, the easier the acquisition of Korean auxiliary verb by Kazakh learners will be. The relationship between semantic transparency and acquisition of Kazakh learners were confirmed to be proportional, but the relationship between similarity and acquisition of Kazakh learners were not verified to be proportional. In Chapter 5. it summarize the contents of this study, and investigates its limitations with reflecting on the meaning and significance of the thesis. This study is significant in that it classified the auxiliary verb of Korean and Kazakh by objective standards, set the corresponding relationship, and investigated about the acquisition of Korean auxiliary verb by Kazakh learners.
