Also, it is intended to be performed by Korean traditional orchestra, but it is just the performance played by the formation of Korean traditional instruments similar to that of western instruments. A lot of bands are trying to overcome these problems through various attempts but the sure solutions to them cannot be found easily. This thesis has a purpose of realizing precisely the limit of Korean orchestral music by studying a conduction technique of ‘Arirang fantasia’ and setting up its way to proceed by integrating the conduction techniques of western songs into Korean traditional music. The result from analyzing the structure and the tune of ‘Arirang fantasia’ composed by Choi Sung-hwan to figure out the way of introducing western conduction techniques into Korean traditional music is that it is compromised of traditional tune modernistically and harmoniously with the combination of implied structure, chord progress, and rhythm of the western songs based on the main tune of the traditional folk song, ‘Arirang’ and it is a work that shows the most similar appearance of western orchestra. It is not expressed in the natural appearance of western orchestra because it is played by Korean traditional instruments whose way of being made is different from western instruments. This song can show exact rhythm of western orchestra because it uses the rhythm of western songs instead of using the rhythm of Korean traditional music.
