The purpose of this study was to help native Russian speakers who were learning Korean learn the Korean body-glossary idioms more effectively. Given the increasing demands for Korean education in CIS countries, it's essential to find systematic ways of Korean education and research effective teaching methods. Researches on Korean idioms in terms of Korean language studies have been done very actively. However, there is very few studies on idioms in the perspective of Korean educations as a foreign language. Especially, less researches on idioms were done for Korean learners who are speaking Russian except very few leading studies. Therefore, it's important to study on idioms for Russian speakers who study Korean. This study was conducted in the following procedures: In Chapter 1, I introduced the goals and methods of the study. In Chapter 2, reviewed the concepts and characteristics of idioms and examined the previous studies. After analyzed the Korean language text books which are used in the education field for foreigners and the text of TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean). In Chapter 3, surveyed the body-glossary idioms of Korean and Russian classifying into 4 types. And I compared and contrasted Korean and Russian idioms. In Chapter 4, selected the idioms based on the frequency of their use in the previous studies to teach to Russian speakers. Finally, I presented the practical teaching model for intermediate and advanced level learners. The idiom education will present not only language proficiency but also the chance to interestingly understand the Korean culture and society.
