In order to analyze the programs, 39 graduate schools, currently registered in the National Institute of the Korean Language in 2014, were chosen as subjects, and these 39 schools are operate their programs under different titles.
Currently, in order to obtain a Korean language teaching certificate, you must complete a certain number of credits designated by the Framework Act on the National Language. Because of this, most accrediting institutions must operate programs under this framework. To this, the chapter takes a look at the designated number of credits and hours required in order to obtain the certificate.
The total number of courses offered in the 39 graduate schools, majoring in the Korean language teaching, is 1279 (including overlapping courses). 1096 of these fall under the required 5 areas of studies in order to obtain the Korean language teaching certificate, and excluding this, a total of 183 are not included in the required areas. To this, the chapter critically reviewed the operation of these 1096 courses that have met the requirements of the Framework Act on the National Language.

This research pursued to critically analyze and understand the education programs of graduate schools in Korea, that are operated based on the Framework Act on the National Language; as a result, it was clear most graduate schools operated the required courses under the Framework Act on the National Language. Also, most Korean language instructors were aware of the outlined Korean language teaching qualifications and required courses for necessary areas, set out by the Framework Act on the National Language. However, approximately 50% of the survey participants responded the allocation of required credits to obtain the Korean language teaching certificate is inappropriate. Also, to the question ‘Do the courses taken during the master’s degree program to obtain the Korean language teaching certificate help in the actual teaching?’, there were different answers in different areas.
In summary, this research does not stop at analyzing the education program of graduate schools, but is important in that it shows the understanding of the current Korean language instructors of the instructional programs. This is valuable in improving the education
