The internationalization of education has become one of the most important features under the background of globalization, it is a trend that foreign students have been growing continually in every country. According to the statistic data provided by the office for National Statistics of Korea in 2014, there are 84,891 foreign students in Korea till 2014, which rose more than 80 times than 1980s when the economic development began after the war. With the rapid growing of foreign students, students’ capacity of adapting to a new life and environment have been becoming more and more important, and among the 84,891 foreign students, students who are from China account for 59.1%. So, it is supposed to attach much importance to researching and analyzing the actual state of the adaptation of Chinese foreign students. In this study, the life adaptation of foreign students is divided into college life adaptation and sociocultural adaptation, and the principle aim of this thesis is to have a deep knowing of Chinese foreign students’ adaptive situation of overseas life in Korea, based on the actual situation, the study will analyze the effect factors of life adaptation of foreign students and put forward some strategies to improve foreign students’ adaptive ability of life. Based on the above research purpose, the effect factors of life adaptation of foreign students were divided into personal factor, social status of parents and social capital (family social capital and school social capital) in accordance with previous studies and this study’s characteristics. This thesis is researched at the following three aspects: 1. The actual state of Chinese foreign students’ family and social capital; 2. The actual state of life adaptation of Chinese foreign students in Korea; 3. The effect and effect factors of adaptation of Chinese foreign students in Korea. This thesis is primarily based on the questionnaire survey, and the survey which takes 314 Chinese foreign students as the object of research was conducted at 9 colleges in Gyeongsangnam province and Pusan of Korea. The survey results are as follows: 1. The biggest effect factors of foreign students’ adaptation is school social capital, and school social capital consists of the dependence for school, the school network and the school norms, and the school norms (equality and mutual respect among students, cooperation on campus, school rules and school atmosphere) have the biggest influence on foreign students’ life adaptation; 2. School social capital is influenced by personal factors and family social capital, and family social capital affects more than personal factors. The family network and the family norms which belongs to family social capital have a relationship with school social capital; while personal factors are not related with school social capital on the whole, but the age, residence time, Korean level and the type of studying aboard have a negative correlation with the school forms; 3. The life adaptation of foreign students is influenced by family social capital directly. Meanwhile, it is influenced by school social capital indirectly, but family social capital is not influenced by personal factors or family’ social economic status; 4. Personal factors have no direct influence on the life adaptation of foreign students, but it affects foreign students’ life adaptation through school social capital. Among the branching factors, the foreign students who are younger or have a shorter residence time and lower Korean level have a higher adaptive ability of life, otherwise they are not capable of life adaptation. Therefore, suggestions which are put forward according to the above conclusion are as follows: 1. It is needed to realize mutual respect and equality between students, promote cooperation on campus and strengthen school rules in order to improve school norms, increase school social capital and improve foreign students’ adaptive ability; 2. For increasing family network and norms and improving social capital, parents are supposed to enhance communication with children, support their children economically and psychologically and create a relatively equal environment for children’ development; 3. Students should be guided differently and correctly according to different age, different Korean level and different type of studying abroad.
