Kano model offers an effective and strategic way to understand customer requirements. QFD, on the other hand, can effectively transform customer requirements, or customer attributes, into engineering characteristics for new product development.
This aims to improve the quality of a DSLR Camera by using Kano model and Quality Function Deployment. First, customer requirements and raw importance is identified by literature survey. Then, Kano questionnaires are used to classify customer requirements and to develop customer (dis)satisfaction coefficients. The classified Kano results and customer (dis)satisfaction coefficients can be used to select more important customer attributes. Important customer attributes significantly affect customer (dis)satisfaction. Competitive analysis is then used to adjust raw importance. Finally, the selected customer attributes and adjusted importance are used in the QFD model, so that customer requirements can successfully be transformed into engineering characteristics.
