This analyze the errors that Korean Chinese learners commit in consonants in Xiang dialect. This thesis is divided into 4 part particularly the pronunciation of Xiang dialect learners is the main focus.
The first chapter presents the necessity and importance of pronunciation training and shows the purpose of the present study. Furthermore, previous studies is reviewed
In chapter 2, the needs of research is ensured and the present Xiang dialect is compared to Xiang dialect in the medieval times. Next, the phonological system of Xiang dialect and korean consonant is manifested through the contrast pronunciation of Korean Xiang dialect learners and Chinese Korean learners. In chapter 3, the result of the contrastive analysis of the errors made by Korean learners that has been discussed in chapter 2 is raised up. Also, the hypothesis made about those errors is practiced and confirmed through experiment.
Not only identifying the specific Korean pronunciation errors that Korean learners made in Xiang dialect through the experiments but also it can be a forward looking research and an efficient Korean pronunciation education.
Even though Korean Xiang dialect learners in intermediate and advanced level, there are still number of pronunciation errors that can be calculated. The negative impact of the standard dialect pronunciation is showed but there is more validity than pronunciation teaching is identified as well.
