Studies on Sino-Korean and Sino-Vietnamese started in 2003. Since then, only Yoon Hye Sook (2003) and Vu Thi Ngoc An (2011) studied on the teaching and learning plans in Sino-Korean and Sino-Vietnamese. There are no studies on the homographs between Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese. Therefore, the aim of this research is to study on the teaching and learning plans in the homograph between Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese.
In this study, the data were collected in January 2015 from 30 students of Hong Bang University and 30 students of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. And then, errors in homograph between Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese were classified and helped to find out errors that students face. In addition, the errors in Chinese words from Korean?Vietnamese dictionary were classified into three categories: errors in polysemic words, homographs, and relative-synonyms. The way to correct these errors were simultaneously pointed out. Furthermore, mistakes in Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese which Vietnamese students usually face, were separated to three difference groups: errors in meaning, homophone, and homograph between Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese in which homograph accounts for 35%.
There are several studies on errors in meaning and homophone between Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese. In this study, I just focus on errors in homograph between Sino Korean and Sino Vietnamese. For teaching, homograph was divided into totally-homograph and a partly-homograph. A totally-homograph will be taught by using the sentences with errors and dialogues. A partly-homograph will be taught by using the sentences with errors and articles.
