Considering the critical role of Korean subordinating conjunction played in teaching Korean to speakers of other languages, Chinese students should know it well in spite of many problems will be made during the study. As certified by government, Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) is widely used in most educational institutions and enterprises. Furthermore, on account of the credibility in the world, TOPIK has significant influence on Korean education. In this study, we throw light on the subordinating conjunction involved in the advanced grammar of TOPIK, in order to help students coping with such examination.
In Capture 2, we first discuss the definition and classification of both Korean subordinating conjunction and Chinese conjunction, and then compared these two from grammar and further function.
In Capture 3, we mainly investigate the frequency of Korean subordinating conjunction that have been tested from the 10th to 31th TOPIK on advanced grammar. As shown in the results, both '-(으)ㄹ뿐더러'(20 times) and '-(으)련마는/련만'(19 times) have high frequency involved in the examination.
In Capture 4, focusing on '-(으)ㄹ뿐더러' and '-(으)련마는/련만', we summarize the mistakes which is made in high frequency. In addition, we talk about the education model and program of these two terms.
For senior students, it is also difficult to master the Korean subordinating conjunction appeared in TOPIK in a short period. It will achieve better result if they can draw forth the advanced grammar based on the grammar they have already learned in primary and intermediate level and do more substitution drill. As demonstrated in Capture 4, comparing '-(으)ㄹ뿐더러' with '-(으)ㄹ뿐만 아니라' is much easier to be understood during teaching experience. The same case is in the study of '-(으)련마는/련만', which can be associated with '-(으)ㄹ 텐데', a term in intermediate level. Although not all the advanced subordinating conjunction can be taught in this way, it is an excellent method for further education.
